I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknowledge receipt of your letter 39074/1906 of the
9th instant respecting Repatriation from Hongkong of
destitute persons, domiciled in the United Kingdom,
who have been sent to that Colony from foreign Countries.
The cost of the repatriation of such persons
will be borne by Consular Funds, so long as the applicants are not seamen, and provided that they have
been sent to Hongkong by British Consular Officers
for the purpose of immediate repatriation to the
United Kingdom according to the terms of the letter
of October 5th, 1901, from this Office quoted in your
letter under reply.
